Every year the Center for Science in the Public Interest takes a look at the restaurant industry’s menu items and chooses the “winners” for highest calories, saturated fat, sodium and sugar.

Thus, the contest is deemed “Xtreme Eating Awards.”

This year’s “awards” include a 3,000 calorie pasta dish at Cheesecake Factory and an Ihop breakfast with 1,760 calories and two-and-a-half days’ worth of sodium.

Contest officials have also deemed a slice of cake from Maggianno’s Little Italy “Get-a-Gutto Cake.” The one “slice” is nutritionally equivalent to an entire eight-serving chocolate fudge cake.

Time.com calls the Cheesecake Factory dish the “worst bad-for-you dish you can order at a restaurant.” Here’s the “Time” article on the Xtreme Eating 2013 results:

And here's a picture of Cheesecake Factory's winning (or losing, in my opinion) dish. It has 3,120 calories and 89 grams of saturated fat. Keep in mind that adults are supposed to consume about 2,000 calories and 20 grams of saturated fat in an entire day.
